European Solidarity Centre

It is one of the most important cultural and historical institutions in Poland. The European Solidarity Centre (ECS) is an interactive museum dedicated to the history of the Solidarity movement and the events that led to the fall of communism in Europe.

The ECS building, with its distinctive architecture reminiscent of a ship, houses state-of-the-art multimedia exhibitions that provide a better understanding of the events of the 1980s. You can see archive photos, films, documents and memorabilia related to Lech Wałęsa and other opposition activists.

On the roof of the ECS there is an observation deck, from where you can admire the Gdańsk Shipyard and the panorama of the city. It is a place worth visiting to learn more about Poland’s recent history.
